04/24/06 Ann Cunnington's Resignation Letter
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is with deep regret, that I write this letter of resignation as
secretary of Local 7803. This local needs officers and members that are
active. Unfortunately, at this time I am unable to perform my duties.
As an employee of Qwest, my future is unknown. But, wherever I am and
whatever I do, I will always live my life following the values of
unionism. Thank you for all the help, patience, kindness and love that
every member of this local has given to me. It was one of the greatest
experiences of my life. What a long, strange trip it's been.
Respectfully submitted,
Anne M. Cunnington
Secretary, Local 7803

"Thank
You 7803" from Deb Smith
Jeanne & Caleb,
Please express my "Thanks" to the Local for the Gift Certificate
( I love Home Depot) and for the cake & pizza at our Bremerton
meeting last night! It was unnecessary, but very much appreciated! Also
all the kind & thoughtful words expressed on my behalf by you, the
Stewards, & the Members, was somewhat overwhelming to say the
least! ( I hate being the center of attention - believe it or
not!!) Those types of situations are very awkward for me...... All I
can say is "Thanks" and it was truly a privilege to work with all the
CWA folks over the years. Serving the membership is never an easy job,
and I feel one must certainly have a caring passion for
people in order to represent the Union in a positive manner. I
hope in some small way I was able to make that positive
contribution.
I would also like to Thank EVERYONE for all their support over
the past 30 years that enabled me to do the work within the Union that
I was so passionate about. That support is critical if you are going to
try and represent the members fairly & equitably.
I am sure I will still remain involved to some extent - because
that is my nature - maybe not right away, but eventually. Right now I
need a rest from all the stress that is an inherent part of that work.
I wish you all well in the work that is waiting to be accomplished
within your Union. It won't be easy, it never is! - But you ALL
have what it takes to make it successful!
Good Luck! I'll miss all of you - but not the BS! (or Qwest!)
In Solidarity,
Deb

Message from Ken Horn
Well, here we are; the Local elections are over and the new
officers have been sworn into their new positions. I am sure
I
speak for all in wishing them much success in the years to come.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Local and its
members for the many years you have allowed me to do something I had
never imagined. Over the years I have had the privilege of meeting many
extraordinary people. I have had the honor to meet President Clinton,
Vice President Gore, senators, representatives, governors, but the CWA
people I have met from District 7 and from across the country will be
the ones I will remember the most. ...[MORE]
